Well, seeing as we're moving out of our apartment and into our first house mid-July, I figured I'd start packing up some of the loose figures.

Boy, did I ever underestimate how long this is going to take. I'm wrapping each figure in bubblewrap then putting them in either a quart or gallon ziplock bag, depending on figure size, then putting them all in a 55-gallon rubbermaid container with peanuts.

Well, after 3 hours I managed to ONLY pack up my complete Marvel Legends (sans Unmasked Wolvie) and about 15 Batman/Spidey figs.

I have approximately 700 or so loose figures so this is going to take me until mid-July to finish, lol.

*awaiting wife's comments about all of the holes in the walls, lol*

There has to be an easier/faster way.

Have you thought about getting a container, layering the bottom with bubble wrap. Then you can evenly space the figures & accessories on it. Cover with a new layer of bubble wrap? You know, lasagna style.

    EQ,

I thought about that but am a bit weary about things shuffling inside during the moving process and rubbing against one another. I'd hate to open up the box and find a pregnant Lotus Angel or Biker Chick, lol.

The one good thing about doing it slowly like this is it lets me get a good inventory going on my database

I'd be a nervous wreck if I had to move all my toys now.

I know the feeling man! I just moved into my first house this past septmeber...

I had most of my figures in a self-storage place because I didn't have enough room in my old apartment. I didn't want to keep paying the $50 a month it cost, and I had the room here at the house (sort of), so I moved it. After about 4 trips with my friend's minivan, we got all the boxes over. I had about 250+ loose figures and cars in my apartment I had to pack... I put each in its own ziplock bag (I got these 5"x7" ones and some 8"x11" ones) and layered them in boxes in peanuts or bubblewrap. I started a few months ahead of time, and it by far took me longer to do that than all of the rest of my apartment.

    have fun man!
